Angus Cattle
Diamond D Angus
| Operation Descritpion: | The registered black angus cattle here at Diamond D Angus remain consistent over generations because we have followed the same reliable program for many years. Our breeding program has proven that you don't need to breed for extreme numbers to have great cattle. We feel that if you breed for extremes, you will lose the basic traits which make the Angus mother cow great. The only extremes you will find at Diamond D Angus are extremely functional, efficient cows. |
Cottonwood Angus Farms
| Operation Descritpion: | Cottonwood Angus Farms raise and develop breeding stock like any good commercial cowman by producing sound, functional cattle, and excelling in growth and carcass traits, while maintaining rigid maternal standards for longevity and fleshing-ability. Their motto is "Real Cattle For Real Cattle People." They selected their herd for optimal traits long before it became fashionable. Because of this they have kept themselves and their customers in a profitable position. Cottonwood cattle are expected to go home with their new owners and be profitable for them. |
Malm Ranch Co
| Operation Descritpion: | Following the original Hereford and Shorthorn cross commercial cattle raised by the Malm family, a purebred Hereford herd was begun in 1950 followed by the addition of purebred Angus, Red Angus, Salers, Gelbvieh, South Devon and Braunvieh herds in the 1980’s and 1990’s. These purebred herds were used to develop the present-day “Best of All Worlds” breed we call Carcass Masters™—three different, four-breed purebred composites produced from the purebred breeds from our nucleus herds through the use of AI and embryo transplant genetics from the breed-leading sires and dams of each of these respective breeds. We formulated Carcass Masters™ to address the paramount need of the beef industry to produce high quality, consistent beef for our beef-eating consumers from a highly maternal, performance oriented, trouble-free, beef animal. |
Windmill Angus Ranch
| Operation Descritpion: | Our ranch started raising Registered Angus in 1953. Rich Peterson along with his father George Peterson bought some top Angus cows in the country and started improving on the productivity in the Angus cows of the day. Rich raised big bulls when the trend was for smaller framed animals. These performance bulls are still what we raise. We are leaders in the breed for high growth easy calving bulls with carcass numbers as a priority. Rich always made it a point to stay away from the fads of the day and stay focused on quality cattle that the real cowman could use. Rich's father started raising Angus in the 30's when Black Angus was not something you bragged about, now three generations later we lead the industry. |
