Equipment Notebook-Chemical Applicators

  New chemical application technology could put a variety of used applicators on the auction block in the months ahead. These recent auction figures will provide some insight into the market value of the different applicator types.

                An Ag-Chem 34-gallon Inject Pump brought $725 at a Texas auction in February 2010. It was listed in good condition.
                Two different Agri applicators were sold in Texas in March 2010. The Metor Pump sold brought $550. The 100-gallon Poly sold for $1,300.
                Seven different Blu-Jet applicators were reported sold over the past year. A 13 Shank Blu-Jet listed in good condition brought $400 at an Iowa sale. A Blu-Jet 12R30 NH3 in good condition sold for $1,100 in Minnesota in February 2010. Another NH3 in good condition brought $1,300 at a January 2010 auction in Nebraska. 
                The 1991 12R30 NH3 Blu-Jet sold in Minnesota in February 2010 brought $2,600. A 1991 Blu-Jet 1600-gallon drag type applicator sold for $2,900 at a March 2010 auction in Texas. The 7 Shank ANHY Blu-Jet sold in Nebraska in February 2010 brought $6,000. The AT4000 Blu-Jet listed in good condition and sold in Iowa in April 2010 went for $9,000.
                A 200-gallon 1999 Case-IH MX240 said to be in good condition sold for $300 in Minnesota in March 2010. An Orthman NH3 11 Shank described as in good condition brought $5,000 at a March 2010 sale in Kansas. A second Orthman, an 8R30 went for $5,700 at a January 2010 auction in Nebraska.
                Two 3,000-gallon Wylie applicators said to be in good condition each brought $700 when they were sold in March 2010 at a Texas auction. A 1990 1,000-gallon Wylie applicator, also listed in good condition, brought $1,600 at a Texas sale in February 2010.
                The Willmar 6T Fry Fertilizer SS Spreader in good condition sold for $800 at a June 2009 auction in Nebraska.  The Willmar 600 applicator, listed as in good condition, sold at a March 2010 auction in Minnesota and brought $1,250. A 500-gallon Willmar Fert/Lime applicator sold for $2,000 at an April 2010 auction in Pennsylvania. A 600 Willmar in good condition brought $2,700 at a February 2010 auction in Minnesota.
                Four different FAC applicators were reported sold. The 1980 8R in good condition sold for $800 at an October 2009 auction in Texas. The RAC 8R40 sold in February in Texas went for $1,050.  A 1991 28’ RAC sold for $1,600 at a Texas auction in February 2010. The fourth RAC brought $2,100 at a February auction in Texas. It was a 12R30 in good condition.
                A large number of DMI applicators were reported sold at auction over the past 12 months. The 13 Shank DMI in good condition sold for $450 at an Iowa auction in April 2010. A 40’ 600 DMI went for $600 at a Minnesota auction in March 2010. The 30’ DMI in good condition sold for $1,000 at a January 2010 auction in Minnesota.
                The 15 Shank DMI 4100 sold in Minnesota at a September 2009 auction brought $1,900. A 13 Shank DMI in good condition sold in Indiana at a March 2010 auction for $2,000. The 11 Knife DMI NH3 Applicator sold in Illinois in March 2010 brought $3,000. The DMI 3200 9 Shank applicator that brought $3,100 was also sold in Illinois in March 2010. A DMI 3200 11 Shank applicator brought $3,150 at an Indiana auction in August 2009.
                The DMI 4100 10 Shank applicator in good condition sold at an Iowa sale in June 2009 brought $3,250. The DMI 4200II in good condition sold for $4,200 at an Iowa auction in August 2009. A 40’ ANHY DMI applicator brought $5,000 at an August 2009 Iowa sale. A DMI 3200 in good condition sold for $5,100 at an Indiana auction in March 2010.
                The 17 Shank ANHY DMI applicator sold in Iowa in April 2010 brought $11,000. The DMI 3250 12R30 sold in Wisconsin in March 2010 went for $14,000. The 19 Shank DMI ANHY applicator sold in Iowa in April 2010 went for $16,500.
                The DMI 5250 19 Shank applicator that brought $20,250 was sold at an Iowa auction in January 2010. The 5300 DMI 16 Shank sold in Iowa in December 2009 went for $21,500.
