If the purchase or sale of a used truck is in your plan for 2010, these figures will give you an idea of the prices used farm trucks brought at auction during 2009.
    Quite a few 1960s GMC models were reported sold at auction in 2009. A 1961 GMC 3500 said to be in fair condition brought $1,000 at a September auction in Oklahoma. A 1962 GMC 4000 listed in good condition went for $1,600 in October 2009 in Indiana.
    A 1963 GMC 4000 said to be in poor condition brought $900 at a September 2009 auction in Nebraska. A 1968 GMC 5500 sold for $650 in October 2009 at a Minnesota auction.
    A 1972 GMC described as in good condition sold at an August 2009 auction in Texas for $700. It included a 1.5T winch. Another 1972 GMC 5500 listed in good condition sold for $1,800 at a May 2009 auction in Iowa. A 1977 GMC 35 Sierra sold at a Minnesota auction in September 2009 for $750.
    A 1983 GMC 3500 with V8 and described as in good condition brought $725 at a March 2009 auction in Texas. The 1985 GMC 7000 sold in April 2009 at an Indiana auction brought $4,300. A 1986 V8 14’ flatbed said to be in good condition sold for $1,000 in August 2009, also in Texas.
    A 1993 2500 4WD GMC with a topper went for $6,000 at an Illinois sale in March 2009. The 2003 GMC 1500 V6 described as in good condition and with a topper brought $10,400 at an October auction in Illinois.
    Most of the Dodge models reported sold were 1980s or newer. However, a 1967 Dodge 500 sold in the state of Washington in March 2009 brought $1,600. It was listed as in good condition and having a 16-foot grain box.   
    A 1988 Dodge 1500 4x4 listed as in good condition and including a snowplow brought $1,200 in January 2009 at an Indiana auction.
    The 1996 Dodge 1500 4x4 described as in good condition sold in November 2009 in Minnesota went for $1,300. Another 1996 Dodge 1500 said to be in fair condition brought $1,000 at an auction in Kansas.
    The Dodge 1994 2500 4x4 sold in January 2009 at an Iowa auction was said to be in fair condition and brought $900.
    A 1997 Dodge 4x4 described as fair brought $1,050 at an Iowa auction in January 2009. The 1999 Dodge 1500 sold in January 2009 in Indiana was described as having a damaged front and brought $1,050. Another 1999 2500 model sold in Indiana at a February 2009 auction went for $600.
    Among the Dodge 2000 models reported as sold at auction in 2009 was a 2000, 2500 4x4 model that was listed in good condition. It was sold in January 2009 at an Indian auction and brought $4,000. The 2001 2500 Dodge 4x4 sold in Indiana in January 2009 brought $7,400.
    A Dodge 2005 3600 Crew Cab said to be in good condition sold at a March 2009 auction in the state of Washington for $10,500.
    Of the Kenworth’s reported sold, a 1969 4x4 with Air Ride described as in fair condition brought $1,700 at a July 2009 auction in North Dakota. A 1978 CONV went for $5,100 when it was sold at a December 2008 auction in Kansas.
    The 1985 22BED said to be in fair condition sold for $17,750 in February 2009 at an auction in Texas. At a June 2009 auction in Indiana a 1987 Kenworth Dump truck brought $12,000. It was a 10SPD described as in good condition.
    A 1990 Kenworth Day Cab with aluminum wheels and said to be in good condition sold for $3,000 at a March 2009 auction in state of Washington. The 1997, 900 Kenworth auctioned off in November 2009 in Idaho brought $19,000 and a 1998 15SPD listed in good condition brought $8,500 when it was sold in August in Texas. The 1999 1600 sold in September 2009 in Nebraska was described as in good condition and brought $8,000.
    At a July 2009 auction in North Dakota, a 2003 Kenworth T600 sold for $22,500. A 2004 Kenworth Heavy Haul sold for $21,000 in August 2009 at an Oklahoma auction. The Kenworth 10SPD T450 sold in February 2009 in Illinois netted $40,000.
