Equipment Notebook - Gravity Boxes

If a gravity wagon best suits your harvest operation, you’ll find a wide variety of brands and sizes at auctions.

Two Forage King gravity boxes were reported sold in Iowa in 2009. The 10TRG wagon said to be in fair condition brought $475 at an August 2009 sale. The 16’ steel wagon also described as in fair condition sold in September 20009 for $775.

 
A number of Ficklin gravity boxes were reported sold. The 185/bushel wagon sold in September 2009 in Iowa brought $450. A second 185/bushel Ficklin sold in KS brought $625. The 225/bushel Ficklin sold in KS in August 2009 went for $600. A 300/bushel Ficklin sold in Illinois in June 2009 went for $950. At a Michigan sale in January 2010, a 200/bushel Ficklin sold for $1,800. A 450/bushel Ficklin sold in Illinois in December 2009 brought $2,700.

 
Farm King gravity boxes started at $300 for a wagon described as in good condition, no gear in Minnesota in December 2009. The 200/bushel Farm King in fair condition sold at a Minnesota auction in September 2009 brought $475. A 220/bushel Farm King sold in June 2009 in Minnesota was said to be in good condition and brought $700. A 250/bushel Farm King sold in July 2009 at a Minnesota auction went for $725.

 
The 250/bushel Farm King sold in Minnesota in July 2009 was said to be in good condition and went for $750. The 350/bushel Farm King that brought $1,650 at a Minnesota auction in December 2009 was described as a 10TRG in good condition.

 
Several E-Z Trail gravity wagons were reported sold and started at $1,100 for a 220W in good condition. It was sold in Minnesota in October 2009. Another E-Z Trail said to be in good condition went for $1,150 in October 2009 in Minnesota. A 12T E-Z Trail gravity wagon in good condition brought $1,200 at a Minnesota auction in August 2009.

 
The E-Z Trail 3400 in good condition that brought $2,150 was sold in Minnesota in December 2009. Another 3400 brought $3,750 at a Minnesota auction in August 2009. The E-Z Trail 230 sold in June 2009 brought $3,800. It was a 275/bushel wagon in good condition. The 3400 that brought $4,900 was a divided hydraulic auger in good condition that sold in Oklahoma in July 2009.

 
The E-Z Trail 500 in good condition was sold in August 2009 at a Minnesota auction and brought $5,800.
The DMI gravity wagons reported sold started out at $300 for a 300/bushel CTR DUMP in fair condition. It sold in Iowa in January 2010. The two 350/bushel DMI wagons sold in Minnesota in September 2009 were described as in good condition and sold for $675 each. Another 300/bushel Center Dump DMI brought $800 at a Minnesota auction in April 2010.

 
The 325/bushel DMI sold at auction in Minnesota in November 2009 was said to be in good condition and brought $850. Two 300/bushel Center Dump DMI wagons sold for $900 each in August 2009 at an Iowa sale. A 250/bushel DMI Center Dump also sold in Iowa in September 2009 was in good condition and went for $900.

 
Two 400/bushel DMIs in good condition were sold in April 2010 in Iowa and brought $1,150 each. A The 300/bushel DMI in good condition brought $1,600 at an Indiana sale in April 2010. The 400/bushel DMI that brought $3,400 was in good condition, had new tires and was sold in Illinois in September 2009.
The Demco 365/bushel gravity wagon said to be in excellent condition brought $4,250 at a Minnesota auction in August 2009. A Demco 650/bushel gravity box sold in Minnesota in December 2009 brought $9,250. A 550 Series 2 POSI FLO Demco wagon went for $11,100 at a Nebraska sale in August 2009.

 
A Butler 300/bushel gravity wagon sold $1,900 in August at a Texas auction. It was in good condition. The 225/bushel Bushnell sold in Minnesota in March 2010 brought $1,300. A 300/bushel Bradford sold for $1,750 at a Minnesota auction in September 2009. The 335/bushel BII wagon said to be in fair condition brought $1,850 at a Minnesota auction in January 2010.

 
A Dakon gravity wagon said to be in fair condition brought $1,300 at a September 2009 auction in Nebraska. A 300/bushel Dakon sold in Iowa in August 2009 brought $1,600. It was described as in good condition. A Dakon wagon described as in good condition brought $1,800 at a November 2009 auction in Nebraska.
